Five Star Credit Union in Dothan: Six Decades of Story on the Walls
By Matt Matthews, Owner2 min read
Five Star Credit Union started in 1964 in Cedar Springs, Georgia, and today is based in Dothan, Alabama. When its Dothan building needed walls that told that story, High Stakes Creative produced and installed a full branded environment, from the lobby to the back hallways, in fall 2026.

What did we build for Five Star?
- An “Elevate” lobby wall in vinyl lettering with blue acrylic panels.
- Painted acrylic dimensional logos in the lobby and offices.
- A history and mission wall on a black PVC backer, framing a TV.
- Two lenticular values walls on aluminum fins.
- A currency and history wall.
- A flag mosaic and a field mural along the corridor.
- A county map wall with stars.
- A timeline wall running from the 1960s to the 2020s.
- A “Meet the Five Star team” wall and a board of directors wall.
- A pegboard community wall on routed PVC backer panels.
- Corner directional signs for each department.
How do you turn a credit union’s history into a wall?
Break it into decades. The timeline wall gives each era its own tall red or blue panel with photos and a short story, so people can read it in pieces as they walk the hall instead of facing one dense wall of text. The panels run all the way to the 2020s.
What is a lenticular values wall?
It is a wall of angled fins printed on both faces, so the graphic changes as you walk past. Five Star’s values (accountability, collaboration, self-improvement, integrity and passion) read one way from one end of the hall and show a different image from the other. The fins are aluminum, so they stay straight and evenly spaced over the full run.
How do you make a big map wall work?
The map is built in vinyl, with each county in its own shade of blue so the map reads as a patchwork rather than a flat print, and stars set on top. County names run in large type across the wall around it.
Why add team and board walls?
A team wall puts faces to the name for members and new hires. The “Meet the Five Star team” and board of directors walls use the brand’s red, white and blue, so they belong with the lobby and the timeline rather than looking like a separate bulletin board.
How do people find their way around?
Corner-mounted directional signs wrap the building’s outside corners, so the department names and arrows can be read from both hallways. Each sign carries the same star mark as the lobby.
What do we need to quote a project like this?
- Floor plans and photos of each wall, with rough measurements.
- The story you want told: dates, milestones, photos and the people to feature.
- Your brand standards, logo files and colors.
- Your opening or move-in date.
