International Paper in Rome: A Digital Monument and Wayfinding on an Active Mill Site
By Matt Matthews, Owner1 min read
Trucks arriving at International Paper in Rome, Georgia need to know where to go before they reach the gate. High Stakes Creative installed a double-sided digital display monument and gate wayfinding at the site in late February and early March 2026, working around an active industrial site.

At a glance
- Client: International Paper
- Location: Rome, Georgia
- Work: a double-sided digital display monument with directional panels, and gate wayfinding signs
- Installed: late February and early March 2026
What did we install?
- A double-sided monument with the International Paper logo and an LED digital display.
- Directional panels below the display for shipping, chemical scales and recycle scales.
- Gate wayfinding signs, including Gate E for shipping, recycle and chemicals.
Why put a digital display on a monument?
A digital display lets the site change its message whenever it needs to, without a new sign. The fixed directional panels underneath carry the information that does not change, so drivers always know which way to turn.
How do you install a digital monument?
Carefully and in pieces. The display cabinet was lifted into the monument structure by a compact crane, then the crew finished the install from lifts. Planning the lift, the power and the timing around site traffic is as much of the job as the sign itself.

What makes wayfinding work on an industrial site?
Short words, big arrows and the same layout at every decision point. Drivers read a sign once, from a moving truck, so each sign names only the destinations that matter at that spot.

What do we need to quote a project like this?
- The site address and a site plan or aerial with the sign locations marked.
- The destinations each sign needs to point to.
- Your brand standards and logo files.
- Any site safety, access or scheduling rules for the install crew.
